Welcome to the Bryon DeVore Photography blog. This space is a place for me to keep in touch with clients, post new work and to share bits about how I go about things here with the photography business. I generally post a few photos from each session, but after a few years of keeping this blog, I know that counting on me to be consistent or regular in any way is probably not going to work out well for anyone. I love to hear from visitors so please drop me an e-mail and be sure to come visit me on Facebook!

Ashland Snow Day!

With school cancelled and several inches of snow on the ground, I decided to take the kids for a stroll around town. Lots of jumping, diving, climbing, throwing and drinking of hot chocolate later, we made it back a little spent, but better for it. Hope everyone in So. Oregon had a great day. Happy Valentine's Day tomorrow.

Happy 4th of July!

I'm heading to Eugene for the weekend and even get to catch an evening at the Olympic Track and Field trials!

Thought I'd share a few photographs of my son from last week. He played baseball on the Ashland 9/10 year old all star team this year and after two weeks of daily practice after the regular season they headed out to Klammath Falls for the tournament. Having my son on the pitcher's mound for the first game, against a group of very strong-looking boys from Medford, was a bit much on my nerves to say the least. Despite being clobbered, and me skipping some heart beats, they had a fun time and Kye is looking forward to next year. I think that's really all I can hope for.

Have a great weekend!

Back from the Brink

Had a great last 12 days with my two children in the desert southwest. If I haven't returned your phone call or e-mail, I will by Monday! First we saw three spring training baseball games of our favorite San Diego Padres down in Phoenix, AZ with the highlight being an autograph for both kids by future hall of famer Greg Maddux (Kye, Mina and one other kid scored; not so for the other several hundred fans clamoring around!). Then it was north to the Grand Canyon, Bryce, and Zion parks and many short stops in between. 4 nights in hotels and 7 in the tent. If you've never been to the Utah National parks (Arches and Canyon Lands included) you must add them to your vacation list! Good to be home to mommy!

Control your kids! (and pets).

Save Dad... then take photo.

Mina's card being signed... Kye preying he's next.

No cliffs were harmed in the taking of this photo.

This one either.

Ski pics with the iPhone

Got in a sweet, sunny day of skiing on Saturday up at Mt. Bachelor (our first time there). Huge mountain! Reminded me of skiing as a kid down at Mammoth in CA, minus the long lift lines. Was able to stay in a fantastic rental house in Sun River via a trade for photography... good deal all around. Anyone looking for a place to stay up there, give me a holler and I'll get you in touch with the owners or click here for online listing (3 bedrooms, great kitchen and living area, hot tub, right in Sun River... nice). Very often the best camera possible the the one small enough to carry with you!
