Happy Summer

Two weeks into my children's summer break (and well past last week's solstice) and it finally feels like summer to me. Several days of really warm afternoons at the little league fields was the trick, I think.

Had a super fun session a week or so ago with Andrew, an impressive young man going into his senior year at Grants Pass High School this fall. Interests ranging from his dog, drumming, natural preservation causes, photography and world travel gave us lots to talk about. He's off for a summer of hard work in Seattle, saving for a planned trip to Antarctica this coming winter which will complete his goal of visiting all the continents while still in high school! Rock on!
